Summer 2003
I moved to St Augustine, FL from Harrisburg, PA in 2003 shortly after my mother passed away. The birth of my grandson the previous year determined my relocation choice. Snow-free winters were a bonus.
After graduating from high school, I became a wife and mother, began college at twenty-eight, and earned a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in middle age.
I worked and lived in the Netherlands (Rotterdam - six years) and Germany (Oestrich-Winkel - six months). Florida with its sand and lizards and heat feels more foreign than Europe did.
